Best Acheron Honkai Star Rail build: Relics, Light Cones, team comp, & more

Acheron is a brand new 5-star Lightning Nihility unit in Honkai Star Rail. Here is a detailed guide for the unit featuring her best teams, Relics, Light Cones, and other details.

Acheron is one of the most hyped units in Honkai Star Rail. She is the Raiden Mei of this game and has direct parallels to her version in Honkai Impact 3rd. Therefore, Acheron is a must-have for both new players and veterans in the Honkai franchise.

However, apart from the lore, she is the strongest DPS unit in the game. Her damage ceiling is the new peak and she is set to define the meta in the days to come. Therefore, unless you have been using your Stellar Jades elsewhere, Acheron is a must-have, no matter how you look at it.

Acheron abilities in Honkai Star Rail

Acheron’s Ultimate has three slashes where she deals massive damage to enemies
  • Basic Attack – Trilateral Wiltcross: Deals Lightning DMG equal to 50% Acheron’s ATK to a single enemy.
  • Skill – Octobolt Flash: Gains 1 point(s) of Slashed Dream. Inflicts 1 stack(s) of Crimson Knot on a single target enemy, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 80%-160% of Acheron’s ATK to this target, as well as Lightning DMG equal to 30%-60% of Acheron’s ATK to adjacent targets.
  • Ultimate – Slashed Dream Cries in Red: Sequentially unleash Rainblade 3 times and Stygian Resurge 1 time, dealing Lightning DMG up to 223%-372% of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy, as well as Lightning DMG up to 180%-300% of Acheron’s ATK to other targets.
    • Rainblade: Deals Lightning DMG equal to 14%-24% of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy and removes up to 3 stacks of Crimson Knot from the target. When Crimson Knot is removed, immediately deals Lightning DMG equal to 9%-15% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies. For every stack of Crimson Knot removed, the DMG Multiplier for this is additionally increased, up to a maximum of 36%-60%.
    • Stygian Resurge: Deals Lightning DMG equal to 72%-120% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies and remove all Crimson Knots. Crimson Knot cannot be applied to enemies during the Ultimate.
  • Talent – Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness: When Slashed Dream reaches 9 point(s), the Ultimate can be activated. During the Ultimate, reduces enemies’ Toughness regardless of Weakness Types and reduces all enemies’ All-Type RES by 10%-20%, lasting until the end of the Ultimate.
    • When any unit inflicts debuffs on an enemy target while using their ability, Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on the target. If debuffs are inflicted on multiple targets, then the 1 stack of Crimson Knot will be inflicted on the enemy target with the most Crimson Knot stacks. This effect can only trigger once per every ability usage.
    • After an enemy target exits the field or gets defeated by any unit while Acheron is on the field, their Crimson Knot stacks will be transferred to the enemy target with the most Crimson Knot stacks on the whole field.
  • Technique – Quadrivalent Ascendance: Immediately attacks the enemy, and gains Quadrivalent Ascendance at the start of every wave, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 200% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies and reduces Toughness of all enemies irrespective of Weakness Types. When inflicting Weakness Break, triggers the Lightning Weakness Break effect.
    • Quadrivalent Ascendance: The next time Acheron uses her Ultimate, she gains 1 points of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack(s) of Crimson Knot on a single random enemy.
If a normal enemy is attacked, they will be immediately defeated and will not enter combat. The Technique Point is not spent if the attack does not hit an enemy.

Passives

  • Red Oni: When battle starts, immediately gains 5 point(s) of Slashed Dream and applies 5 stack(s) of Crimson Knot to a random enemy. When Slashed Dream reaches its upper limit, for every point of Slashed Dream that exceeds the limit, gains 1 stack of Quadrivalent Ascendance. Increases the maximum stackable count for Quadrivalent Ascendance to 3.
  • The Abyss: When there are 1 or 2 Nihility characters other than Acheron in the team, the DMG dealt by Acheron’s Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate increases to 115% or 160% of the original DMG respectively.
  • Thunder Core: When the Rainblade from Acheron’s Ultimate hits enemy targets with Crimson Knot, her DMG increases by 30%, stacking up to 3 time(s) and lasting for 3 turn(s). And when Stygian Resurge triggers, additionally deals DMG for 6 times. Each time deals Lightning DMG equal to 25% of Acheron’s ATK to a single random enemy and is viewed as part of the Ultimate DMG.

  • Level 2 – Mute Thunder in Still Tempest: The number of Nihility characters required for the Trace “The Abyss” to achieve its highest possible effect is reduced by 1. When this unit’s turn starts, gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on the enemy with the most Crimson Knot stacks.
  • Level 3 – Frost Bites in Death: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

Best Acheron Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail

Acheron’s Light Cone is a must-have as she does not have many substitutes

The best Light Cone for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail is Along the Passing Shore. This Light Cone increases the Crit DMG by 36%-60%. Upon hitting an enemy, the target will inflict Mirage Fizzle that lasts for 1 turn. Each time the wearer attacks, this effect can only trigger 1 time on each target.

The wearer will deal 24% increased DMG to all targets affected by Mirage Fizzle, and the damage from the Ultimate will be further enhanced by 24%-40%. The only way you can get access to this Light Cone is if you pull in the Light Cone event warp.

The problem with Acheron is that if you do not have this Light Cone, then Acheron will suffer quite a lot. The best 4-star option you have is Good Night, Sleep Well, but you need that at Refinement 5. Even then, the damage will be nowhere close to the signature 5-star Light Cone.

The damage numbers you will notice when using both Light Cones have been listed below:

  • Acheron with 5-star signature Light Cone (Superposition 1): 1,987,396
  • Acheron with 4-star Good Night, Sleep Well (Superposition 5): 1,747,735

Therefore, the damage fall-off for the 4-star Light Cone is around 239,661 which is a 13.8% difference. This difference will cause major issues when playing in the Memory of Chaos or the highest-difficulty versions of the Simulated Universe where enemies are significantly tanky.

Best Relic and Ornament set for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm is the best Planar Ornament for Acheron

  • 2-piece bonus: Increases DMG dealt to enemies with debuffs by 12%.
  • 4-piece bonus: Increases Crit Rate by 4%. The wearer deals 8%/12% Crit DMG to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on an enemy target, the aforementioned effects increase by 100% for 1 turn.

Therefore, the more Nihility units you have in the team, the more damage Acheron will deal while wearing this artifact set. This matches the requirements for Acheron with regard to setting up her best team.

This Ornament set demands that you run one more Nihility unit alongside Acheron while entering battle.

Trace priority and stat requirement for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail

Trace Priority

The Traces you should focus on while leveling up Acheron are as follows:

  • Ultimate Ability (Highest Priority): All of Acheron’s damage is through her Ultimate.
  • Talent (High priority): Acheron gains her All-Type RES Pen through her talent.
  • Skill (High priority): Acheron needs her skill to deal damage when her Ultimate is down also gain charges for her ultimate.
  • Basic Attack (Low Priority): Does not serve any purpose.

Stat Requirement

Acheron is a Nihility unit but her damage is directly tied to how much Crit Rate and Crit DMG you can build on her. The stats you should focus on have been discussed below:

Acheron does not need Energy Recharge, therefore do not use any Relics that end up rolling Energy Recharge in either main or sub-stats.

Eidolon Priority

This is strictly for spenders, but if you are looking to level-up her Eidolons, these are the ones you should focus on:

  • Eidolon 1 (High Priority): The increased Crit Rate on rebuffed enemies comes in handy and helps to reduce the pressure on getting perfect artifacts.
  • Eidolon 2 (High Priority): This Eidolon removes the need of running two Nihility characters as the buffs from Acheron’s bonus ability reaches maximum value with only one unit from the aforementioned class. Therefore, you can stack Harmony units in this team for even more damage output. Additionally, the Eidolon will make it easier to rotate your Ultimate ability faster.
  • Eidolon 6 (High Priority): Increases the overall damage output of Acheron massively as her All-Type Res Pen is enhanced which further enhances the damage output.

Best team comp for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail

There are a number of teams you can run when using Acheron in Honkai Star Rail. However, your team flexibility will depend on the number of Eidolons you have.

Best Team Comp at Eidolon 0

Best team for Acheron at Eidolon 0

If you are at Eidolon 0, you will need to run two Nihility units alongside Acheron to trigger her Bonus ability “The Abyss”. In case you are unaware, this Bonus Ability grants Acheron 115%/160% damage depending upon whether you have one or two additional Nihility units alongside Acheron.

Thus, the best team at Eidolon 0 comprises of Fu Xuan, Acheron, Pela, and Black Swan. In this team, Pela can reduce the defenses of the enemy, Black Swan stacks debuffs, and Fu Xuan is the tank. You should run Pela with the Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat Light Cone to reduce the defenses of the enemies even further.

You can replace Fu Xuan with Luocha or Gepard depending on character availability. In fact, the upcoming unit Aventurine will also work in this team. However, this team is viable mostly in the open world, Simulated Universe and Pure Fiction.

If you are looking for a team to run in the Memory of Chaos (hardest content in the game), you should go for Acheron, Fu Xuan, Silver Wolf, and Pela. While Black Swan works well with multiple enemies, Silver Wolf is way more suited when fighting bosses in the game. Your damage will be enhanced by around 150,000 to 200,000 when using Silver Wolf.

Best Team comp for Acheron at Eidolon 2

Sparkle is a must-have when Acheron is at Eidolon 2

If you have Eidolon 2, you do not need to run two Nihility units beside Acheron. In this case, the best team to go for is Acheron, Fu Xuan, Sparkle, and Pela. It is vital to mention here that Sparkle is quite possibly the best support for Acheron as she enhances damage output by several folds.

Article continues after ad

The difference between running Sparkle at Eidolon 2 and running Silver Wolf or Black Swan is around 100,000. Once Sparkle gets into the team, Acheron’s damage jumps up to around 1,100,000 with a Superposition 1 5-star Signature Light Cone. In perspective, you can expect a 5%-7% buff when Sparkle joins the team.

You can also run Bronya, but her buffs are not as substantial as Acheron. Ruan Mei is not that good of a choice since Acheron needs Crit boosts, but Ruan Mei’s kit revolves around Break Effect and reducing Weaknesses on enemies. This team can function in both Memory of Chaos, and Pure Fiction.

Acheron pros and cons in Honkai Star Rail

Acheron is an exceptional unit but she has a few flaws as well. Here are the pros and cons of Acheron in Honkai Star Rail.

Should you pull for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail?

Yes, despite her few cons, she is a must-pull unit in Honkai Star Rail. It is true that she needs multiple Nihility units and is reliant on her Light Cone for optimal damage. However, she is also quite possibly the strongest DPS unit in the game.

If you think about it, someone like Dan Heng, or Jingliu can hit around 300,000 to 400,000 with the proper setup and signature 5-star Light Cones. Acheron on the other hand, can hit around a million quite casually.

In fact, Acheron is a must-pull meta unit, which means even as a free-to-play you must have saved a lot of Stellar Jades for her. Apart from that, her Light Cone banner has a 75% chance of dropping the feature one which is a very good odd.

However, even if you use Good Night Sleep Well, her damage is still on par and a little higher than some of the best DPS units in the game provided all of them are using 4-star Light Cones. Therefore, the investment return when pulling for Acheron is very high and her pro far outweighs her cons.

Finally, if you are worried, you can always get her Light Cone in a rerun banner.
