Mark Long is a game designer, graphic novel writer, and movie producer, and the Co-CEO of Seattle-based Zombie Studios. Long is the Designer/Producer of over 28 games including Blacklight, Saw, America's Army, Delta Force, Spec Ops and Rainbow 6. He's also the co-creator/writer of the graphic novels Shrapnel and The Silence of Our Friends as well as creator/producer of the feature film Blacklight.
Prior to founding Zombie, Long had a Research and Development career that spanned three laboratories: the Sarnoff Research Center, the University of Texas Institute for Advanced Technology, and General Dynamics' Combined Arms Systems Engineering Laboratory. While at Sarnoff, Long and his partner Joanna Alexander led a team that developed a game console for Hasbro.
Long has served on the GDC Serious Games and University of Washington Games advisory panels and a number of technical advisory boards and government committees including SGI, the National Science Foundation and the University of Washington Human Interface Laboratory.
Long received his BS at the University of Texas, where he also received his commission in the US Army. He retired with the rank of Major and is the recipient of the Army's Meritorious Service Medal.
